abstractText  Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage for dilute-Peru, dp. The mutant dp is derived from Peru-Harland wild mice (MNL 44, 18). Data from N-Ca-bt,A/dp,ae females x dp,ae/dp,ae male, are: N/Ca: A: 69; a: 39. dp: A: 22; a: 44. Ca: A: 2; a: 2. N/dp: A: 0; a: 1. N: A: 0; a: 0. Ca/dp: A: 0; a: 0. N/Ca/dp: A: 1; a: 10. +++: A: 34; a: 20. Total: A: 128; a: 116. Clearly dp is linked with N and Ca. Previous work has shown that dp is difficult to classify in A- mice, for wild Peru ancestry causes segregation of agouti modifiers (MNL 42,20); Naked-agouti also tends to obscure dp. Interpretation on aa progeny only gives the order N-Ca-dp and the N-dp recombination values as of the order 28% and 26% respectively. Among aa progeny, but occasionally expressed heterozygously; of these 18 were non-recombinants as regards dp, and 8 were recombinants, confirming the order N-Ca-bt-dp. Linkage tests with mn, to the left of N (Wallace, Mallyon: Genet. Res. Camb. 20, 257-262), are in progress. The mutant dp is offered to any holder of underwhite, uw, which is well to the right of bt (Dickie, MNL 39, 27). (Wallace, Green)
