| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: Genetic distance between Gdc-1 and Ca. An electrophoretically detectable mutant of sn-glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase has been found in the offspring of 1-ethyl-1-nitrosourea-treated mice (Biochem. Genet. 22 [1984] 419-428). Linkage tests with Ca confirmed this mutation as an allele of Gdc-1 on chromosome 15. Outcrosses were made of double heterozygotes in repulsion. Data obtained from the examination of 217 mice demonstrated a genetic distance of 14.7 +/- 2.4 expressed as percent recombination +/- SE between Gdc-1 and Ca. This genetic distance is consistent with that expected from the published localisation of the Gdc-1 locus (Immunogenetics 25 [1987] 21-27). (W. Pretsch) |
