In collaborative studies with Roy Riblet and Martin Weigert (Institute for Cancer Research) linkage was detected between Hc and Danforth's short tail (Sd). The cross and results were as follows: (C57BL/6By;Re Sd VaJ x DBA/2J)F1 x AKR/J (Re Sd VaJ Hc1/+ + + Hc0) x (+ + + Hc0/+ + + Hc0) Sd Hc1 + Hc0 Sd Hc0 + Hc1 25 43 1 6 Thus, only 7 recombinants were detected among 75 progeny for a recombination frequency of 9%.
