| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 4. Assignment of Igh and Pre-1 to Chromosome 12. Two linked loci that have evaded all attempts at mapping are Igh and Pre-1. With the finding that LG XVI, formerly assigned to Chr 12, was carried on Chr 3 (MNL 60:50, 1979), the possibility existed that these two loci were carried on Chr 12. We established matings segregating for Pre-1, Igh, and T31H, a translocation whose Chr 12 breakpoint is located distally. To date, 24 out of 27 backcross offspring tested for T31H and Igh, and 14 out of 16 tested for T31H and Pre-1, were parental types. We conclude that Pre-1 and Igh are located on Chr 12 at its distal end. (Roy Riblet, Institute for Cancer Research, Eicher, and Taylor) |
