| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage of S1<con> and gr. Backcrosses of Sl<con> ++/+ gr v to grizzled waltzers gave the following progeny: 35 Sl<con>, 1 gr v, 6 +, 2 Sl<con> gr v, 5 Sl<con> v, 2 gr, 1 v; total 52. Analysis of r e s u l t s for non-gr progeny only (because of the greatly reduced viability of gr) confirms that the order is as shown and gives an RF of 16.3 + 5.6% between the Sl and gr loci. This is in reasonable agreement with the estimate of 6-14% recombination between these loci made by Cacheiro and Russell in Genet. Res. 25 (1975) 193. (Beechey and Searle) |
