abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research news: 3) Sparse-fur. Reported MNL 19: 37. Proposed symbol spf. (Please note that we originally proposed the symbol Sf, and that the mutant was actually listed with that symbol under "Mouse Mutant Gene Symbols," MNL 20: 7. However, sf has been used for the sex-linked recessive scurfy Russell, Russell, and Gower, 1959, P.N.A.S. 45: 554-560),) It now appears that sparse-fur, spf, is also a sex linked recessive. It was originally listed as an autosomal dominant with incomplete and variable penetrance. The confusion was due to the occurrence early in the history of the stock, of animals which were probably spf/0. This was in the days before we knew that was female. |
