| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: The determination of the p - ru-2 distance in linkage group I. Since it was assumed that p was epistatic to ru-2, an approach to the p-ru-2 distance in linkage group I was made which did not involve the normal 3 point test cross. The cross was: female c++/c++ x male + p ru-2/+pru-2 animals. The F1 animals were raised and backcrossed to +pru-2/+pru-2 animals. All non-pigmented eyed young (pru-2/pru-2; pru-2/p+; or pru-2/+ru-2) were raised and scored as to their pru-2 phenotype. All pru-2/+ru-2 animals were then test crossed for the presence of c. Two possibilities were considered: 1. order: c-pu-ru-2; genotype: c+ru-2/+pru-2, single cross-over; genotype: ++ru-2/+pru-2, double cross-over. |
