| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 4. Ashen mapped. Ashen (ash) is known to be located on Chr 9 between Sep-1 and Mod-1 (J. Heredity 70:133-135, 1979). In a RI with d, no d ash/d ash mouse could be recognized and 46 F>2< pairs of ash -/ash + X + d/- d were tested for single crossovers. All 46 pairs produced only wild-type offspring. However, 19 ash -/ash + mice from a BC, ash +/+ d x ash +/ash +, were also tested for crossovers between d and ash and one mouse was found to be ash +/ash d. The combined data give a recombination estimate between ash and d of 0.91%. (Lane and Sweet) |
