The linkage between gr and v reported in MNL 27: 30 from repulsion intercross data has been confirmed by coupling backcross matings. The data are as follows (the intercross data were obtained by Dr. J.L. Bloom): Rep. Intercross; + +: 129; + v: 65; gr +: 37; gr v: 3; Total: 234; p: 25.4; +/- s.e. male: 7.1; Coup. Backcross; + +: 72; + v: 9; gr +: 9; gr v: 51; Total: 141; p: 12.9 +/- s.e. male: 2.8. The two estimates are not significantly different and the combined estimate of the recombination frequency is 14.6 +/- 2.6 %. (Falconer and Isaacson) |
