| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Inbred Strain: BFM/2Mp1 (F. Bonhomme). Our BREVI/II line started in 1976 from an outbred stock of commensal mice from Montpellier and referred to as the brevirostris morphotype of M. m. domesticus has reached 20 generations of full sib-matings and will be called from now on BFL/2Mpl (Mpl is the abbreviation we propose for Institut des Sciences de l'Evolution, Montpellier (Dr. F. Bonhomme) as strain holder). Another line derived from the latter after generation 8 has only reached 17 generations of inbreeding and will subsequently be called BFM/1Mpl. These mice are very active animals showing a light agouti coat-colour with a light belly. The average litter size is close to six. The protein variation at 45 protein loci is as follows: Loci where BFM/1, BFM/2 and C57BL/6Pas possess identical alleles: Ldh-1, Ldh-2, Trf, Idh-2, Mor-1, Mor-2, Alb-1, Adh-1, Gdc-1, Got-1, Es-2, Es-5, Es-10, Es-14, Pgm-1, Pgd-1, Pk-1, Pk-2, Sod-1, Amy-1, Mpi-1, Gpd-1, Gpt-1, Pgk-1, Car-2, Np-1, Gda-1, Glo-1, Ada-1, Acp-1, Gapdh, Ak-1, Ak-3, Ak-4.
