| abstractText | An important aim of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute's Mouse Genomes Project (MGP) is to sequence and annotate the genomes of key laboratory mouse strains. MGI loads MGP strain genome sequence data and annotations for assembled MGP strain genomes. MGI creates strain-specific genome features (genes, pseudogenes, etc.) and associates these strain-specific features with MGP IDs, genome coordinates, gene model sequences, feature biotypes and associations to existing MGI records as provided by MGP. Note that while MGP serves data files for the C57BL/6J strain, MGI derives genome feature information for C67BL/6J from current data within MGI.
