Allele : Parp1<tm1Jmdm> poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase family, member 1; targeted mutation 1, Josiane Menissier de Murcia

Primary Identifier  MGI:1857861 Allele Type  Targeted
Attribute String  Null/knockout Gene  Parp1
Transmission  Germline Strain of Origin  129S2/SvPas
Is Recombinase  false Is Wild Type  false
description  With respect to apoptosis, the absence of ADRP drastically increased the sensitivity of primary bone marrow cells to apoptosis induced by an alkylating agent (J:54159). ADPRP deficient cell lines established from homozygous null animals show decreased topoisomerase II activity (J:54143) as well as decreased DNA polymerase activity (J:56869). NOTE: The similarities and differences between the Parp1tm1Zqw and the Parp1tm1Jmdm alleles are reviewed in (J:53842).
molecularNote  A neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into the fourth exon of the gene. No ADPRT1 protein was present in homozygous mice as assayed by Western blot analysis and activity blot analysis using cells isolated from spleen and testis.
