| molecularNote | A deletion of the entire transcription unit of the Uncx4.1 gene was generated by introducing a loxP site 2-kb upstream of the transcription start site and a loxP-flanked neomycin cassette 5-kb to the second exon. Following homologous recombination in ES cells, cre recombinase was transiently expressed in order to excise loxP flanked sequences.
