molecularNote  Insertion of a targeting vector into PC3 ES cells placed a loxP site in intron 2 and a floxed neo resistance cassette in intron 5. Cre-mediated excision removed exons 3-5 upon transmission from male chimeras. Immunoblot confirmed absence of protein in mutant mice.
