molecularNote  A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 12 and a FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted downstream of exon 14. Mice were crossed with FLPe transgenic mice to remove the neomycin resistance cassette, leaving exons 12-14 flanked by loxP sites. Correct targeting was confirmed by genomic PCR.
