molecularNote  A cassette encoding an EGFP-cre fusion protein and an Frt-flanked neo/kanamycin cassette was inserted upstream of the endogenous STOP codon and downstream of the polyA sequences in the Tnfrsf11a1 gene by homologous recombination. The neo cassette was subsequently removed by crossing chimeras to CAG-FLPe mice.
