molecularNote  A targeting vector composed of the cre/ERT2 sequence and a neo cassette was used to replace exon 1 of the Cadm4 (Necl-4) gene by homologous recombination in ES cells. Two clones were selected for injection to produce chimeras. Germline mutant mice were produced from both clones and these exhibited identical homozygous phenotypes.
