molecularNote  A loxP site was inserted upstream of the microRNA region and an FRT flanked neo cassette and loxP site were inserted downstream of the region. Recombinase mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and the microRNA coding region. Expression of Mir128 was reduced by 80% in the brain of homozygous mice.
