molecularNote  An FRT- and loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted upstream of exon 3. An addtional loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 3. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette. Cre-mediated recombiantion removed exon 3. This deletion downstream of the PR domain results in a frameshift and precludes production of a functional protein.
