molecularNote  A loxP site and FRT-flanked neomycin cassette are introduced into intron 5 followed by a loxP site placed in intron 7. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette. Cre-mediated recombination removed exons 6 and 7. Western blot anaylsis on nine tissues confirmed that no protein was expressed in mutant mice.
