molecularNote  Exons 2-8 were replaced with a neomycin resistance gene. The deleted region encoded the 5' terminal from residues 1-113, including the transmembrane domain and palmitoylation site. Immunoprecipitation of protein from splenocyte and mast cell lysates followed by immunoblot confirmed the absence of protein in mutants.
